The level of contamination based on microplastics is an increasingly worrying issue and one of which many organizations and companies are beginning to become aware. And the rate of production based on plastic elements is little by little poisoning our planet. And not only the Earth, but also our body, since these particles can penetrate deep into our body. In order to obtain more sustainable washing free of microplastics, Samsung announces a new device that attaches externally to our washing machines and that can manage to capture up to 98% of microplastics that are generated in each washing cycle, according to the company. An external filter compatible for all washing machines
The company already showed the characteristics of this new device in its Korean division a few months ago. However, it was not until now that the device was put on sale in Spain. Basically we talk about a filter that connects externally to the washing machine and that guarantees us to capture the microplastics that are generated in each washing cycle.
Samsung has worked in collaboration with the Patagonia firm and the global ocean conservation organization Ocean Wise to develop this new filter, which It is compatible with any washing machine. Its complete compatibility with other washing machines, the sustainable nature of this project and its connectivity through SmartThings, are three factors that Samsung takes advantage of with its Less Microfiber filter.

The filter also requires maintenance by the user to ensure its operation. According to Samsung, It is advisable to clean it every 30 useswhile when in operation, the internal paddle movement of the filter ensures that microfibers do not clog the device.
If we encounter any problems, if we have the SmartThings app we will obtain information about the filter’s operation through notifications from our mobile device. In addition to its effectiveness, Samsung also ensures that 90% of the device is made from recycled plastics. Along with this, the packaging where the product comes has also been produced using recycled cardboard.

The new Less Microfiber filter is now available for purchase in Spain and can be purchased through the official Samsung store at a price of 140 euros.
