Movistar Plus+ users have access to all the television offered by the platform, including DTT channels and a vitaminized version of the Spanish Radiotelevision offering thanks to the deco they offer. A small device that It looks a lot like the HGU router that they had been marketing.
And among all the possibilities it offers, the operator’s decoder hide a trick that not everyone knows to improve the sound of series and movies. A function that we now explain how to take advantage of in the Movistar UHD deco.
The secret is in the decoration
It is about taking advantage of Dolby Audio in the Movistar deco and thus improve sound which can be heard in all the content that passes through the decoder, especially series and movies. All you have to do is follow these steps:
- The first thing you have to do is enter the “Settings” with the control of the deco.
- Once inside, look for the section “Dolby Audio”.
- There are different sections. In “Setting” Activate “Manual”.
- Then you have to look for the function “Dolby Audio Status”.
- Check the box “Activated”.
- In “Audio mode” Choose “Dolby Digital Plus”.
To take advantage of these functions you must have one of the compatible decoders from Movistar. The UHD deco is compatible, but there are also other models that support this function and on the Movistar website they say which ones they are:
- HD decoders models 1113 and 1113W.
- HD decoders Zyxel Nano and Arris models.
- HD decoders models ADB 3800 and ADB 2840.
Also, yes, it is logical, the television on which we are going to watch the content or the sound system that we use, whether it is the TV or an external one, must be compatible with the Dolby Digital Plus sound system.
You can know if the content you are going to see supports this type of audio by looking if the Dolby or Dolby Digital logo in the header with the information of the content you are going to see.
This way, you can improve the quality of the audio you experience from the speakers of the television or sound system you use at home. However, in exchange you will lose the possibility of increase and decrease the volume with the deco control Movistar and you will have to do it using the remote control of the Smart TV or sound system.
You can check if you have Dolby Audio active by entering “Setting” of the deco and within the section “Aid” access the section “Discover more features”click on “Settings” and enters a section that says “Dolby and Dolby Audio”. There you can see a test video to determine if it sounds good on your TV.
