We are currently seeing a complete change in the work paradigm, promoting teleworking and also the fact that many executives are becoming digital nomads. And it is that in many jobs no need to be in person and you simply need a good internet connection to work.
With this change in model, many cities tried to attract these digital nomads mainly by having high purchasing power. And with the latest data we can conclude that Spain has done its homework very well because it has slipped into the top 10 favorite cities for digital nomads Malaga in second placeand Barcelona or Palma in prominent places.
Spain becomes a good destination for digital nomads
When a digital nomad is faced with the decision of having to choose in which city to develop their work activity, they must have different factors than choosing an office. In this case it is really important Internet connection speed, cost of living, weather or international connections via plane or train. And taking all these factors, Savills PLC has published a report that Bloomberg is reeling off with a top city for teleworking.
In the first position of this ranking there is no surprise, with Dubai leading it due to the connections that exist with wealth and business. In the end, this is a location that has become the preferred destination for any executive due to the recent establishment of large technology companies.
But the real surprise is found in second place where Malaga appears as one of the great options for any digital nomad. And there are many reasons for having achieved this position, starting with the climate, the quality of life that is very good and the good connections that it has through its international airport. All this without mentioning the exceptional gastronomy that it has (despite the fact that it may look bad for an Andalusian to say so).
And that there are many companies that have opted for this Andalusian city to implement their companies such as Google itself and its new cybersecurity center. And this has been a great incentive so that, little by little, each time more technology startups that are settling in the city.
In short, all these values can be found in the graph that Bernardo Quintero has published in his X account, being this a great promoter of this city as an innovation hub. And it is that if we continue analyzing it we can find two other Spanish cities: Barcelona in seventh place and Palma in eighth.
With all these data we can conclude that we have great potential as a country for many high-level businessmen to want to settle in our country. Now all that remains is to continue working to continue advancing in a better infrastructure and quality of life that allows us to face Dubai itself.
