The green music platform has just extended one of its features to Macs. The firm recently announced music video clips in its application, a feature that YouTube Music has already been offering for a long time.
Jam is available on Mac
Multiple listening functionality Spotify Jam is now available on Mac and Windows versions. Jam allows you to share a group listening session with your friends, thus avoiding one and the same person choosing the music throughout an evening. From now on, you can start a Spotify session on desktop, which your loved ones can join to offer a few songs in turn.
In a blog post published two days ago, Spotify stated on this subject:
Although you can listen yourself, Jam in the desktop app gives you the ability to share a real-time, synchronized listening experience with others remotely or in person. For people who like to listen while working, studying or relaxing, this is a great way to socialize at the same time. The Jam experience is a much better option than just sharing links to songs or playlists with other people.
Free or not?
If you do not have a Spotify Premium subscription, Unfortunately, you will not be able to start a Jam session. It is in fact reserved for paying users, but you can however be invited to a current session, even without the subscription.
All Jam participants can add songs to the queue, see who added which song, and receive recommendations, all from their own devices. The host also has the ability to determine who participates in the Jam, change the order of the tracks, or remove a song that doesn’t fit the mood.
Seeing this type of functionality, we understand why Spotify continues to progress. However, the superior audio format still does not seem to be relevant for the world leader.
