The OLED monitors 27GR95QE and 45GR95QE, each with 240 Hz for gamers, which were previously presented in the USA, are also coming to Europe. LG announces local availability for February 2023. The prices are 1,099 euros and 1,799 euros.
OLED for fast response time and high contrast
Thanks to OLED technology, the gaming monitors achieve significantly shorter response times compared to LCD models, which LG specifies at 0.03 milliseconds (grey to gray). Even fast LCDs are here at 1 ms – some even a little less. In addition, OLED provides significantly more contrast, since the OLEDs themselves form the pixels and, thanks to pixel-precise switching off, “real” black can be displayed. With LCDs, on the other hand, the backlight still shines through behind the liquid crystals, so the black level is never as dark as with OLED screens.
LG states a high contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1 for both OLED monitors, which are also said to cover the large DCI-P3 color space almost completely at 98.5 percent.
UltraGear 27GR95QE and 45GR95QE
With the UltraGear 27GR95QE, LG serves the 27-inch class with OLED for the first time. The monitor has a resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels in the usual 27:9 format. The OLED panel has no curvature and is therefore flat. One DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 and two USB-A sockets with 5 Gbps and audio outputs are available.
The stand allows for a height adjustment of 11 cm, can be rotated by only 10 degrees in each direction and tilted by -5 to +15°. The 27GR95QE-B also supports pivot to operate the display upright. The monitor does not have integrated speakers. However, RGB lighting is integrated on the back.
While the 27GR95QE costs 999 US dollars before taxes in the USA, the recommended retail price for Germany is 1,099 euros including VAT.

The UltraGear 45GR95QE-B, on the other hand, uses a strongly curved OLED panel in 21:9 format with 3,440 × 1,440 pixels and a 45-inch diagonal. The main equipment is otherwise identical to the little sister model. However, the pivot mode is not supported due to the enormous width.
The UltraGear 45GR95QE has a recommended retail price of 1,799 euros. As mentioned at the beginning, both newcomers should be available in Germany in February 2023.
