If your Pixel is eligible for this feature, you will no longer suffer from losing your data in service.
Do you have a Pixel smartphone? Have you ever had to send it to technical service for a serious problem? ¿Change broken screen or damaged battery? In those moments we think more about safeguarding the terminal’s data rather than the health of the mobile itself. That is why Google Repair Mode has been launched on your Pixels.
As already announced in September, Google was about to launch this mode on its Pixels, and it has been since last December 6, when Google began sending millions of Pixel smartphones an update that includes Repair Mode as the most interesting addition in the last year. This mode helps Google service technicians keep all the data on the terminal safe when opening it and making certain repairs. ¿How it really works and when we should activate it?
Pixel Repair Mode in detail
First of all, you must know if your terminal is accessible to this new mode. Not all Google phones will receive this updateso we leave you a list of Google Pixel terminals that will obtain this benefit:
To check that you already have this mode added to your system, you must go to Settings > System > Repair mode and activate this mode within this screen. It is very simple and only you will have access to all stored data once the technician on duty deletes all the internal memory.
Important, for this repair mode to work correctly you must have, at least, 2 GB of free space in internal memory of your Pixel mobile. Unfortunately, the Pixel 3 and 4, and earlier, will not receive this update as they are the last ones that no longer receive technical support from Google today.
The last to join this official update are the Pixel 6a and 5a, but we still have no news about whether Pixel tablets will have this mode in the near future or not.
