Normally we associate the use of headphones as a complement with which to listen to content without disturbing the person or people around us. From songs with the mobile, through conversations to even what we see on TV. But what is not normal is use headphones to help us fall asleep. And that is what LG wants to do with its latest proposal.

The Korean brand has developed the LG Breezein-ear headphones that we can see during CES 2023. A model that is not designed to listen to content and whose purpose is to help the user to fall asleep and incidentally monitor the person to know the data in rest periods .

They listen to our brain waves

The LG Breeze, (means breeze in English), have been developed together with the specialized company SleepWave. are headphones intended to monitor the rest of the user and control all phases of sleep. Its operation is based on the detection and recording of brain waves associated with sleep.

With weighing 6 grams each, these are in-ear headphones that, although they may seem new, are not so new, at least in the end they pursue. At the time Bose worked on a similar idea that he later ended up parking and leaving aside. What happens is that LG goes a little further.

These headphones, in addition to reproducing specific sounds for sleeping, include a series of sensors responsible for recording the frequencies of the brain and play the most appropriate sound. These are white noises or “ASMR”, an acronym for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. These are noises capable of tuning in with brain waves and in total they have a catalog of about 80 sounds. These noises can also be synchronized with our own music or YouTube videos.

The LG Breezes they don’t differ from many in their appearance from other in-ear headphones that we can find on the market and in fact their shapes are designed to adapt to the ear and facilitate isolation from the outside. They offer a very small size so as not to be annoying while we sleep.

these headphones allow you to recreate sounds based on listening to the frequencies of the brain in the left and right zones. These are brain waves that are in the ranges of 0.5 to 3 Hz and which are related to deep sleep.

Types of headphones by their shape: these are the most common designs that we can find on the market

As LG explains, hear 100 Hz in the left ear and between 98 and 102 Hz in the right induces 2 Hz brain waves, which help to sleep better.

These headphones include a series of sensors capable of recording the time we sleep and what occupies each of the phases of our sleep. Also, also They can analyze our sleeping posture and the movements we make. We will be able to consult all the data collected** through the appropriate application on the mobile phone. In addition, and following the steps that we have already seen in the headphones calibrated by Meridian, the LG Breeze box has an ultraviolet LED to try to eliminate germs and that the headphones are disinfected.

Price and availability

For now the only thing we know about the LG Breeze is that will be announced at CES in Las Vegasbut for now there is no data regarding the price or date of when they will be available.
