Sometimes the most useful features are the ones Apple didn’t present at WWDC
More than half a year has passed since the official release of the final version of iOS 17, and after all that time of testing with my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I have already been able to reach a conclusion about what my favorite features are. Because yes, the ones that Apple mentioned are very good, but also the ones that they did not mention during the inaugural keynote of WWDC 2023.
The new features in iMessage? I love them. The new autocorrect? Also. Sleep mode? More of the same. But I also think it is necessary to mention some of the features that were not seen and that Apple allows us to discover by testing the versions thoroughly. Here are my five favorite hidden gems of iOS 17.
Crossfade on Apple Music
I think it’s the one I like the most and it should have been mentioned at WWDC 2023. For those who don’t know, Crossfade is an addition to Apple Music that eliminates silences between songs so you feel like the music doesn’t stop at any time.
The great thing is that the crossfade What they have added is very good. Not only does it eliminate silences, but it also brings together the melodies of the song that ends with the one that begins to give you that feeling of never stopping.
In addition, since we are talking about Apple Music, in the different versions that have been released, new functions have been added such as Apple Music collaborative charts with the possibility of reacting to the songs that are added or the favorite songs list.
Insert passwords and contacts anywhere
Another function that I really liked is the possibility of insert passwords and contacts anywhere. If you are in a field where text can be entered and you double-click to open the context menu, you will see an option for password or contact.
Another detail I love about iOS 17 is being able to insert passwords into an empty text field by double-tapping. pic.twitter.com/cnKgtZyheN

By clicking on one of them, the keychain in key case, so you can quickly choose the one you want to put safely. Before accessing iCloud Keychain, your iPhone will ask you for Face ID or Touch ID authentication.
New interface in the emoji search engine
It has always been said that the emoji interface was very complex due to the number of touches that had to be made to exit it. Although there was a small trick that was to press up on the screen, now it has changed a little.
Being able to exit the emoji search engine so easily is one of my favorite details about iOS 17. pic.twitter.com/QfiW5Le0wE

In iOS 17after searching for an emoji, a button will appear “OK” at the bottom right of the keyboard which will allow you to get out of it easily and quickly. No more extra touches. Now with only one you can exit the interface.
Profiles in Safari
I have to admit that I didn’t pay much attention to this feature until it was mentioned to me. Now you can have and configure multiple profiles in Safari from settings, as if they were different users. Each profile can have different extensions, favorites, history, home screen, etc. You can configure them according to your needs and use them according to the configurations. Maybe on a work profile you don’t want to have Twitter as a favorite, that kind of thing.
Automatic removal of 2FA codes once used
iOS 17 Not only does it allow us to autofill two-factor codes from the Mail app, but it also allows us to You can delete them once used. By entering iCloud Keychain, you can activate an option that allows the system to automatically delete them once used. Specifically, the following steps must be followed:
Settings > Passwords > Password settings by selecting Delete automatically.
There are many more hidden gems in iOS 17, but these are the ones I liked the most along with the main new features. For now, it’s been a good experience, except for the battery, but I’m looking forward to knowing what the next betas have in store for us.
