Microsoft has reportedly entrusted the design of its next Xbox console to the Surface division, the Google Pixels will be entitled to a host of new features, Windows 11 will prevent circumvention of its hardware requirements: that’s the recap!
Every morning (except Monday), we look back at our most important news from the day before. Saturday morning, we discovered that Windows 11 allowed you to uninstall Edge, that AI practices nuclear escalation, and that migration to the Freebox Ultra is expensive. On Sunday, we summarized all the essential news from last week: a new feature in Gmail, the power of the PS6 that will impress… and much more! This Tuesday on the program is Windows 11, Xbox Series X2 And Google Pixel.
Microsoft tightens CPU requirements for Windows 11
Microsoft will visibly tighten its demands on those who circumvent Windows 11 restrictions. A misfortune for many users who will surely no longer be able to use an obsolete CPU on Windows 11, when the 24H2 update arrives. Until then, a large number of processors still in service such as the 7th generation Intel were no longer officially supported, but remained usable thanks to workaround methods. Even though Microsoft added a few more CPUs, that still leaves a lot of people on the sidelines.
New features for Google Pixel
New features will be added to Google Pixels in a few weeks during the Pixel Feature Drop in March. This should be held on March 4, the manufacturer having resumed the habit of deploying this type of update on the first Monday of the month. But what can we expect? Android ecosystem expert Mishaal Rahman revealed a list of likely new features based on Android 14 QPR2. “There is no guarantee, however, that all the features I mention here will be included in the stable version of Android 14 QPR2 next month”, he specifies. The future Xbox Series X2 will have a new design
The next Xbox could well sport a completely new design. This time, the Redmond firm is passing the baton to its Surface team, renowned for its elegant and high-performance devices, to imagine the console of tomorrow. Nick Baker, a well-informed insider in the world of video games, suggested in the XboxEra podcast that this change in direction could also delay the arrival of the new console. If we start from scratch, it will take time, but it may be worth the effort. Microsoft would still intend to get ahead of Sony by launching its “Xbox Next” or “Xbox Series X2” in 2026.
