Since the application period for the Digital Kit opened on March 15, the government has already granted more than 430 million euros in aid and hopes to end the year having reached 100,000 Spanish companies.
The Digital Kitthe financial aid program financed by the Next Generation EU funds to promote the digitization of SMEs and the self-employed, has become the most demanded aid program in the history of Spain.
This was highlighted by the First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, at the closing ceremony of the 2022 ATA Awards, in which the program was awarded as the best institutional initiative.
Only in the first six months since it was put into operation, the Digital Kit has received almost 250,000 applications since last March 15 the deadline for submitting them opened.
So far, 85,000 bonuses have been distributed digitization, between 2,000 and 12,000 euros, to companies with up to 50 workers. And the forecast is that, at the end of this 2022, up to 100,000 companies and the self-employed have benefited from this aid.
The goal is to reach 100% of Spanish SMEs and freelancers
To achieve this, between 20,000 and 25,000 resolutions are being carried out every week, so if this pace is followed, by the end of the year the desired number of beneficiaries will have been reached.
The idea is that next year the same rate of deployment will continue, maximizing the pace of the program. According to Calviño, the goal is to reach 100% of the self-employed and SMEs.
