iRobot has renewed its product catalog with the arrival of two new cleaning robots. The popular devices with the Roomba seal now grow with the addition of the Combo j5+ and Combo i5+ which we now come to know.
Two new robots for home cleaning that are coming to be placed one step below Roomba Combo j7+, a model with which they share a good part of its characteristics, such as the possibility of sweeping and mopping the floor.
Cleaning and sweeping…separately
The Roomba Combo j5+ is the first model that we are going to meet. A robot for cleaning the home that we can use both to vacuum and absorb dust and to wipe the floor with a wet mop. We will can choose between one and the other function by changing the container.
The collected dirt is dumped and emptied into a container located on its charging base, a deposit that accepts collected dirt for up to 60 daysAlthough this figure depends on how clean or dirty our house is.
Furthermore, this model includes a camera capable of recognizing objects. In combination with iRobot OS and thanks to AI, this Roomba Como j5+ recognizes more than 80 different objects and independently defines specific cleaning zones if necessary.
For its part, the Roomba Combo i5+, despite sharing features, not all of them, also presents changes. It’s designed for smaller homes and unlike the Roomba Combo j5+, It does not have a system that allows it to detect obstacles.
Yes indeed, includes the same system of interchangeable containers to choose if we want to vacuum the dust or pass the mop. And as in the previous one, the dirt is also emptied into a charging base with the capacity to collect dust for up to 60 days.
Price and availability
The Roomba Combo j5+ will be released at mid-September at a price of 899 euros, while the Roomba Combo i5+ is already available in the iRobot online store at a price of 699 euros. This price drops to 449 euros if you choose to use a simple carca base.
