Millions of Postbank customers affected: Please don’t delete this old app

Postbank customers should have been informed by letter when the changeover is due for them. If you have received such a letter but can no longer find it, you should use the central support page drive. There you will find the necessary information about what will change for you in online banking, apps, the current account or the credit card.

Particularly important: After the change, Postbank customers will have to use a new banking app, and the old financial assistant will no longer work. But it still plays an important role in the transition:

If you install the new Postbank app, you can log in with your known Postbank ID and your password. However, the new access must also be activated.
You do this activation using the financial wizard. In the new app, tap on “Set up BestSign”, enter a name and password. Then the activation follows via the old financial assistant.
Postbank therefore strongly advises against deleting the financial assistant from your smartphone too quickly, otherwise you will not be able to start the new banking app.
Alternatively, there is also the BestSign app separately. If you have used it before, you can also use it to activate the new access.

Those responsible at Postbank can understand the criticism of the meager range of functions of the new Postbank app. In a conversation with CHIP it was said that thanks to the new platform, the basic version can now be expanded more quickly.

In the meantime there have also been monthly updates that include functions such as iPad compatibility, localization of ATMs and branches, transaction search or internal transfers/transfers have retrofitted.

In a few weeks, the aim is to be functionally on par with the old financial assistant, and the new Postbank app should have more features by the end of the year. Exciting: mobile payment should be available in the second half of the year.
