How to batch rename files on Mac without any third-party app
When it comes to changing the name of our files on the Mac, it is quite common that we have to do it to a good number of files. In this situation, obviously, we can choose to rename one by one manually. We can also choose to use third-party apps to rename files in batches. and we can also use the option offered by the same operating system.
For several versions now, our Mac, directly in the Finder, offers us the possibility of rename all the files we want in one step. A really interesting function, very versatile, and that offers us a customized result with just a few clicks.
Nothing like the Finder to quickly rename any collection of files
Renaming multiple files on our Mac is as easy as selecting all the documents that interest us, doing secondary click on any of them and choose the option rename. From here, we have several options depending on what type of name we want to assign to the files.
The first thing we have to do is look at the first drop-down, because here it offers us the options of replace text, add text either Format. Let’s start with the first one, which allows us to replace any text in the file name with another. Here, as a usual “Find and Replace” we write the text to search for and the text we want to replace it with. If we leave this second field empty, the text will simply be removed.
The second option is add textthat allows us add any text we write after the name either Before the name. If necessary, make sure to type a space before or after the text so it doesn’t stick to the existing name.
The third and last option is Format. Here we can choose to use Name and index*, Name and counter or *Name and date. In all cases, we can decide if the index, counter or date goes before or after the name we have decided.
After choosing the options that best suit our needs, all we have to do is press rename so that the Finder does all the work for us. The process, it should be said, is practically immediate, although with hundreds of files we may have to wait a few seconds.
Without offering the number of options that some dedicated third-party apps can have, the truth is that it gives us just enough so that we can handle most situations comfortably. A functionality that, like this way of dragging files in macOS, can easily go unnoticed, but really interesting.

Apple offers users two peripherals to control their Macs: the Magic Trackpad or the Magic Mouse. Those used to MacBooks and their large touch pad for gestures may choose the former, but those who prefer a more conventional experience are likely to opt for the latter. Magic Mouse VS Logitech Lift, which one to buy?
Since its release, Apple hasn’t revamped the Magic Mouse (other than adding a built-in battery in place of the battery compartment in a revision), and seems to have no interest in doing so. It is a mouse that enters through the eyes and attracts attention due to its design, since there is no other like it. But It is not very practical for many users (or comfortable). Yes, it allows you to perform gestures such as movement and has a range that is not bad, but it is not for everyone.

Apple is due to launch a new Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra chip this year and that could mean there won’t be a new Mac Studio with the same chip, according to information from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The problem for Apple would be that a Mac Studio with the M2 Ultra chip and a Mac Pro with the same processor would duplicate each other. The interest in taking a Mac Pro would be more than limited, especially if we are to believe the rumors that the machine will not be really modular. Apple would therefore prefer to set aside the Mac Studio and not renew it, at least for now.
